Today’s knitting stitch is for the Diagonal Garter Rib. It’s a very simple, beginner friendly stitch that is worked over 5 stitches and 10 rows using only knits and purls. Directions for the Diagonal Garter Rib:
1 (RS) and every RS row: Knit
2 (WS): *P2, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2
4: K1, *p2, k3; rep from * to last st, p1
6: K2, *p2, k3; rep from * to end.
8: *K3, p2; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2
10: P1, *k3, p2; rep from * to last st, k1
Rep rows 1-10 until desired length is reached, binding off as pattern.
